New Year, New Beginnings

I have 2 more weeks at the library, then my 6-month term there is over. I’ve had a lot of fun in those 6 months. Working at the library in my hometown seems to have encouraged me to learn new things, and I’ve learned a lot more about the town and met many people I never knew before. It’s taught me some important life lessons that I’ll never forget; one of those is to go after what you want, no matter how difficult that seems at the moment. And finally, I’ve been able to just breathe. I started reading again, and writing of course. Working on the library blog convinced me to start working on my own again. I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot in the time I’ve been there. :)

This week, I also started volunteering at a local pharmacy. I’ll be job-shadowing pharmacists and pharmacy techs one day per week. Pharmacy tech is a job I’ve been considering so this experience should hopefully help me decide whether I should go to college for it or not.

The horses are doing well. Molly has her annual winter allergies. Most of the time, her breathing is bad and when it gets really bad she doesn’t eat much. I wish there was something I could do to help her. I’ve tried watering her hay, feeding her only from the feeder, and I always shake out all the hay to get as much dust out of it as I can, but nothing really helps. I have medication for when she gets really bad, thankfully. And I’ve been limiting Destiny’s exposure to Molly’s crumbs as much as possible (yes, my horse is allergic to horse feed, and she refuses to eat beet pulp. She’s just on a supplement to get the nutrients she needs. Luckily, she’s an easy keeper and doesn’t really need feed!).
